HAPIVWAP

Volume Weighted Average Price

HAPIVWAP

Purpose: Tracks the average price weighted by volume to identify institutional trading levels, guiding speculators on risk on and risk off opportunities in intraday futures trading.

Description:

  • This version is developed by Fari Hamzei, and HAPIVWAP highlights where institutional traders (“big boys”) enter and exit using prime broker discretion for intraday fills.
  • The Indicator displays a volume weighted Average inside a sigma channel.
  • Plotted as a dynamic line: brighter Cyan when VWAP is above price (bearish, risk off), DarkSlateGray when price is above VWAP (bullish, risk on).
  • Speculators use it to gauge market sentiment; a price below VWAP often signals selling pressure.
  • Example: VWAP below price at 5224.17 in a brighter Cyan shade suggests a short trade has been working below 5428.51.

NinjaTrader Use:

  • Displayed as a single line on a NinjaTrader chart, with color coding: brighter Cyan (VWAP above price), DarkSlateGray (price above VWAP).
  • Automatically adjusts to day session data, reflecting intraday volume-weighted price levels.
  • Integrates with RadarScreen to scan for price crossing VWAP across instruments.
  • No user inputs required; calculated in real-time for intraday trading.

Practical Example:

  • On our chart for ES futures, HAPIVWAP is at 5224.17, and we can see that this “Cyan” color of the indicator has mostly contained the bounces since the afternoon of April 3, 2025.
  • This bearish risk-off signal leads to over a 300 point drop.
  • The yellow channel lines expand as volatility increases, aiding speculators monitoring VWAP.
