We Journal For Our Own Benefit
There is a fine line between Hype, Hope, and Help.
Competing against the Twitter entertainment crowd is a difficult challenge, and after ten years of regular posting, I am stepping back as per my plan. I will continue to offer occaisional insights, but with much less rigidity.
One day we wake up and realize we are seeing our lives pass before us, and social media has become too addictive and too much a part of our lifestyle.
It’s time to relax and let go.
The Hype, The Hope, and the Help we offer that really most people dont want or will never be able to act upon anyways.
I post some ideas in a trade room supporting traders who have nvested in our system or parts of it like the E-widget.
Charts are very important to me as visual representations of trading ranges and high odds turning points in many different time frames.
Catching pieces of these moves is what trading is all about.

Pre-FOMC Thoughts
Day Traders try to understand intra-day swings and capitalize on short term imbalances as they repeatedly occur every day. There are many more smaller rotations that exist within the larger rotations. Many individual traders are best suited for this type of trading, as it allows us to choose when we want to play and avoid overnight risk.

Swing Trading is a short-term trading method that can be used when trading stocks, options and futures. Day Traders will go home “flat”, as trades last less than one day. Swing Trader’s positions usually last from two to six days, but could even last as long as a few weeks

Remember @millerdon made over 1 m in a year averaging 1 tic per contract if my memory is correct. That debunks ideas about levels , letting profits run , and execution. Gang tackle and lock profits. That requires capital, guts and discipline to let go of a 90k loser
Pop used to say anyone can drive a car fast on snow and ice; it’s steering it and stopping that is the problem. I think trade management is similar, including discipline, risk reward, position sizing, and scaling out when profitable. Not sexy but the reality of longevity
Trading and investing is a business. Execution is important, but so is having a method that allows for locating repeatable opportunities. Humility is next to the unsung hero, capital. Any competent trader knows where the levels are, discipline separates the men from the Boyz

Talk Less, Listen More
Idea for 2019 Listen (to the market) more, talk less. Observe patterns. Take reasonable risk if there is an edge. Don’t argue with Mr Market or people on twitter. Accept that we will miss lots of opportunities and leave chips on the table. Try to catch pieces of the swings #EMWS
Twitter Entertainment
Imagine This
Traders are a strange breed. Can you imagine a plumber, electrician, carpenter, surgeon calling out their next move on twitter? “Next I want the skillsaw / pliers/ scalpel/ duct tape/ I’m in a zig zag pattern (whatever) and I just made $247.52 with only $14.37 Risk”
